With the recent work we have been doing with our HTPC build, we have been using Hulu a lot. This matched with our unhealthy obsession with Lost, we have popped in a cool little Hulu block stickied to the right side of the screen. You can watch videos right from that block. Okay, we admit it, we did it mostly for our own use while staring at the site teasing out our own ego..... Either way, enjoy! [Sorry for those opposed to/unable to use flash...]

If you are a Netflix member with and HD DVD player you may have received notice. But if you are still on the fence on choosing sides in the format war, take note: Netflix is now exclusively Bluray.

Sometimes we do some off topic things here at mutaku and here is one such rant. I have been obsessed lately with the series of books by Lian Hearn called the Tales of the Otori. From wikipedia, "Tales of the Otori is a series of fantasy novels by Lian Hearn, set in a fictional world based on feudal Japan. The series initially consisted of a trilogy: Across the Nightingale Floor (2002), Grass for His Pillow (2003), and Brilliance of the Moon (2004). It was followed in 2006 by a sequel, The Harsh Cry of the Heron, and in 2007 by a prequel, Heaven's Net is Wide."

I always have enjoyed when magazines and online zines have shared pictures of some of the home setups people have going. There is something fun about seeing how others like to get things done, the zen of the workplace you might say. So I have posted a few pictures of our setup for fun. Almost a year ago, (of course after my warranty was up), I began getting colored vertical lines on my 17" G4 1.67GHz powerbook. Jump ahead a year, give or take, and I know have half of a function LCD display plus about 75 bright colored vertical lines. Apple's response, "Oh that is unfortunate because your warranty is up."
